2. What type of placements can I have?
Answer: We provide care and suppoer to Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, Learning disabilities Centre, Mental health services, Acquired Brain Injury services, Autism spectrum services, NHS and private hospitals, HM Prison, and Domiciliary Care settings.
Q. What qualifications do I need to register?
Answer: As a Care Assistant, support worker, you do not need any formal qualifications although an SVQ in Care is desirable, as well as a willingness and enthusiasm to undertake the mandatory training courses provided.
Q. How do I register?
Answer: It’s easy – just contact our office and we will send you an application form. We will advise you about what documents you need to bring to register and arrange a registration interview with you that suit your time.
Q. PVG Check?
Answer: All staff will be required to undertake a PVG check before starting work. If you are not currently registered with the PVG scheme, you will need to pay for the check by debit card. If you are already registered with the PVG scheme and your PVG is more than a year old, you will need an update check.
Q. What training is provided?
Answer: We provide the mandatory training courses for care and support workers e.g. Moving and Handling, First Aid, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, medication administration and Care awareness. All of these can be completed during your induction period and must be completed before working for Seasoned hands care. If you have already completed these courses and can produce a valid certificate you will be exempt. We also provide specialist care training to work in special services like Dementia awareness, Autism spectrum, working with people learning disabilities, mental health awareness, epilepsy awareness, working with alcohol and sustain abuse and behavioral support strategy.
Q. Can I work hours to suit me?
Answer: Of course. The beauty of working with us is that you work when you are available and at location nearest to you. As long as you put your availability on a weekly basis we will contact you when shifts come in that match your availability.
